An Associate Consultant serves as a member of a team that works directly with clients to provide investment and financial counsel. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, development of investment policy, asset allocation modeling, spending policy analysis, performance attribution, performance monitoring, investment research projects and preparation of client meeting materials. The Associate Consultant also reviews and finializes clients' quarterly evaluation reports and monthly flash reports, providing a summary analysis to the consultants. A successful Associate Director will have the opportunity to advance and to become a shareholder in the firm.
- 2-5 years of investment-related experience
- A Bachelors Degree at a minimum, but preferably a MBA or other advanced degree
- Chartered Financial Analyst® charter holder or in pursuit of the CFA® designation
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to conduct quantitative analysis with a critical eye
- In-depth understanding of quanitative statistics and methods used to evaluate investment managers
- Ability to successfully manage multiple assignments and tasks in a demanding environment where time management, attention to detail, follow-through and meeting deadlines are critical
- Facility with computer applications, proficient in spreadsheets and graphics
- Comfortable dealing with high-level decision makers
- General intellectual curiosity, especially about global capital markets

We are seeking an experienced professional for this role and would prefer 2-7 years of pension consulting or actuarial experience. Excellent presentation and writing skills, along with a solid technical background, including significant knowledge of defined benefit plan is required for this position. An advanced degree and of the CFA® designation (or progress toward these credentials) is preferred.
Consultants service all aspects of client relationships and are directly responsible for managing client engagements.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing asset liability modeling studies, including cash flow analysis
- Providing consulting advice on plan design, investment strategy and structure
- Maintaining knowledge of pension trends, best practices and regulatory changes concerning defined benefit plans
- Providing support to senior consultants on complex pension situations as needed
- Meeting with clients and responding to their needs and objectives
- Assisting in the preparation of research pieces on timely investment or regulatory topics
- Two years of pension consulting or actuarial experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Economics; MBA and CFA are a plus
- Ability to successfully manage multiple assignments and tasks in a demanding environment where time management, attention to detail, follow-through and meeting deadlines are critical
